Lady Jo is off her trailer!

It was a cold day today with a very light dusting of snow!
A couple of neighbors, my brother in law, and Alan gathered at my house!

We managed to get Lady Jo off the trailer and onto some boat stands I recently bought! While the process was entertaining it was not all that hard.

In short, the steps:
1) We dropped the tongue of the trailer to the ground which in turn raised the stern of Lady Jo.

2) Blocked up Lady Jo's stern with two boat stands.
Image
3) built up using 8X16 cement cinder blocks two stands. One on either side of the bow of Lady Jo. Measured to make sure the stands were outside of the wheels and fenders of the trailer.

4) used a 3 ton floor jack to raise the tongue of the trailer which in turn raised the mid and bow of Lady Jo up off the trailer bunks.

5) layed two 4X6X12 feet long presure treated boards across the cement blocks above the trailer and under the bow of Lady Jo.

6) Wiggled, jiggled, and jacked the bow as high as we reasonably could and then supported the bow of Lady Jo with the two 4X6X12's

7) Now the stern was supported by the two boat stands at the stern and the two 4X6X12's and the trailer was free. We lowered the bunks on the trailer and had to let the air out of one of the tires to roll the trailer under the cross boards and out from under Lady Jo.

8) As soon as the trailer was free we put the two remaining boat stands under the bow, chained them together, and took the weight off the cross boards.

9) We cleand up all the tools, extra wood, jack, hammers, etc.

10) Took Destiny for a very short run moving her from her temporary moorage back to her perminant moorage!

I can't thank the help enough. It was wonderful to See Alan of Honu again and he finally got to see Destiny in person! Even went for a very short trip!

Next step is to remove the keel and look for replacement keel brackets. If anyone here has the facility and desire to make them, speak up now as I will not wait. If anyone is interested in keel brackets for a 22 let me know. I intent on getting a set made for me. Might as well make more at the same time if there is interest.

and . . . . .

Here is Alan!
Hey Alan, thanks for providing the photos!!!

You also might be able to buy used at a marina or new at West Marine or Defender marine.

OH yeah!!

Alan ( Alanhod ) of Honu was kind enough to take all the pictures you see except this one!!

Here is Alan after he literally grabbed Lady Jo, lifted her gently over his head while the rest of us quickly moved the boat stands into place.

THANK ALAN for your help!!!!

. . . . and yes, you showed up exactly on time! I think my neighbors were more excited to do this than I was and that is why we were on it early!!!! LOL!!
