Motor Mounting Plate

Post by jbbkamp »

I need to replace my wood motor mounting plate on my C20. It was a teak? block before 8.5"x10"x2". Having a hard time coming up with something to replace it. Can't find any teak blocks. Would any other wood work well for making this?

I would think any hard wood would work well - white oak, etc.

Or you could laminate one to thickness from plywood, then glass it to water proof it..

Wood Plate for motor

Hi there:
I used a piece of hard wood off of a 2 x 10 and it works just fine. May not last as long as teak but it does the job.

White oak is hard to find around here. I used mahogony from Menards. Look closely, some of their boards are glued together, but you can find the ones that are a solid piece. ;-)
