New main Sail

Post by jim_dorton01 »

Here is my dilemma. I took my old sail in to see if it could be fixed. It can't. They ended up throwing the sail away. I'm now in the market for a new sail and I'm being asked what is the size and type of my luff and foot slides. I have a swing keel, thus I have the shorter mast. Can anyone help me answer this question?

You can get BRAND new OEM sails from http://www.thesailwarehouse.com they have three sails to choose from ranging in price from $425 to $735 The cheap one is the standard main, the second in the price chain is the full batten main and the third is the costal cruising powerhead main with two full battens up top.

I have had good luck on ebay. Here is the link to the chrysler manual showing the dimensions of the luff etc.

Just be sure the person you are buying from knows how to measure correctly. If you want to save money, it doesn't have to be the exact size as the original. Of course it can't be bigger.

www.usedsails.com is a good site too.

Good luck,

Thanks for the info. I just placed an order with Sail Warehouse. Looks like they knew just what I needed and had the sail instock.
