Sula in the Sea of Cortez

Hello All,
Ive been planning my Sea of Cortez trip for over a year now and its finally becoming a reality. Im a student at Prescott College in Arizona and for my senior project I decided to study the marine biology in the Sea of Cortez (Ive spent four months here in the past studying for school but I was land-based). I intended to launch in La Paz and follow loosely along the Steinbeck route from 1941, but in light of the hurricane we decided to launch in Loreto and stay clear of possible danger. Looks like a real fun trip. How about that, a Chrysler C22 as a research vessel. I like your time laps of razing the mast. Sounds like your having fun, have an excellent trip too.

for those that want to get to the meat of it...

"SULA performed as expected, like a very small boat with a lot weight in expedition gear weighting her down. we sailed about at four and a half knots upwind and hit 5.4 knots downwind at one point; fairly respectable speeds for a boat this size rigged with as many provisions as she has. She rows at about 1.7 knots (that's right we have oars) and motors at nearly six knots full throttle. "

c-22 owners... cruisers MANY updates... you will really really want to check this out, these guys should get some kind of Chryasler Fleet Award from this forum.... can we "print" them up a virtual "Awrd" of recognition and put it on the splash page or something..... the Chrysler sailing community should really recognize these guys efforts in some way....!
