When is the key

Post by kalamazoogal »

I'd be very interested in this but need to have some dates. Perhaps this
was mentioned and I missed it. I farm and have plan play around harvest
( can't skip out at payday you know ). I'd be coming from central Iowa, so
Tenn. isn't too far away.

We are going to get there May 28th or 29th and stay until June 4th or 5th. It starts Memorial Day weekend and ends the following weekend. And of course, folks are welcome to come and go and their schedules permit.

I haven't been keeping up with the thread too well... Tennessee is a bit of a haul, but if the finances and schedule look good come next spring, sounds like fun.

We selected TN because it is pretty much central to all who have expressed an interest.

Hey, the alternative suggestion was Oriental NC. THAT would have been a heck of a haul for you!

ETA: At 590 miles, it's actually closer for you than it is for me (610 miles), and only 35 miles farther than Banshi will have to drive.

Afloat and sailing. I am working on a flyer kind of posting that folks can print out and place on their fridges to help them get through the tough winter ahead.

BIG NEWS!!
After being less than enthusiastically received by the Cherokee Lake Sailing Club I was considering relocating the event. I spoke to Jeff and he has agreed to assist me in developing this further. We are moving just up the road to Windward's home waters, Watauga Lake.

More details to follow as they become available.

Thats fine by me...What about T shirts, my sons a pretty good artist and I have asked him to design a shirt for everyone to consider. He got a silkscreen machine for x-mas..that just might come in handy :D

Were open to ideas...

I will have something from him shortly to get the ball rolling...

That sounds fine to me. The list of possible attendees so far includes an LS-13, an LS16, a slew of C-22's, and a couple of C-26's.

Just remember when pricing shirts that I know at least two of us (Banshi and me) need a 3X and TALL would be nice.

So the party is moving to Lake Watauga... right up my alley so to speak. I've heard that back in the day there was a dealer who sold Chrysler sailboats on this lake. Perhaps that is why so many Chrysler's still sail its waters.

As it stands I'll be there all week, so if someone needs a dedicated crew member and can put up with someone whose only sailing experience is backyard sailing... I'm your man. If you have not seen Lake Watauga here is a little something to sleep on.

Sorry. It's probably due to the fact that I had to look up to talk eye to eye. I'm not used to being around people taller than me.
