New stainless steel scuppers!
New stainless steel scuppers!
Do they look like shower drains to you?
Scuppers
Must be from the new Home Depot sailing line..
Lowes actually
Better than the broken-up old plastic ones they replaced.
Scuppers
I have seen photos of someone who used PVC to run from the cockpit drains to the scuppers. I would be leary of doing this. This is the ventalation for the fuel locker.
Gasoline vapors are heavier than air. Unlike a car where gasoline vapors will float to the pavement and dissipate in a boat they will accumulate in the lower sections of the bilge. This has the potential of a explosive bomb and with a ignition device will explode. Many boats have exploded because of gasoline or gasoline vapors that have accumulate in this manner. The bilge must be vented.
A cup of gasoline vapors is equal to several sticks of dynomite in explosive power.

Hey Rich
This was the easiest thing I have ever done to the boat. These snap in as if they were custom made to fit.
They neither prevent water from entering via the transom nor inhibit the outflow from the cockpit.
I also have them installed in the cockpit.

Hi Everyone -
Newbie here , although not to sailing or to web boards. I bought a C22 a couple of weeks ago and I'm madly getting it ready for the water. YAY!
I was about to ask about these scuppers, luckily I did a search first!
So, just to confirm: Birch, is it a C22 in the picture ?
Thanks a bunch!
Glad to have a web board for the new toy ...
Cheers everyone.

Archy,
Welcome aboard the group. Nice blue boat there in your picture.
Since that was an old thread, you might not get a reply, I searched for posts by Birch, and don't see a post since January of 2004.
It is a C22 as another post had a great pic with it.
Again,
welcome aboard, looking forward to hearing more about your C22
Beau
