Boat, phone home
Here's one for you guys that keep a boat in the water. Its an article in the latest Good Old Boat. For less than 100.00 and the cost of a pre paid phone service, you can set up your boat to text you if bildge water gets too high. there's a fire or an intruder. It can also be set to call a second number if you desire.

Re: Boat, phone home
I hate to admit it but I could use that even that tho EE is on the trailer. Last two times we've had severe rains I've found water in the cabin. Hoping its only because she's a bit bow down and water is getting under the bottom cabin board. You only need a bit of water there for it to flow forward and down the steps..clair hofmann wrote:Here's one for you guys that keep a boat in the water

9mm, .357, .45, .30, 30-30, or 12 gauge, all good fun till some bad guy bleeds all over your carpeting and twelve people have to decide your future.
First question, why did you shoot him 6, 8, 15, etc. times?
Answer, I had that many bullets in the gun, didn't want to waste any since he clearly wanted so very badly to break into my home and threaten my families lives... And I dropped the speed loader/extra mag while dialing 911 so could not shoot any more.
And remember when using the big caliber guns, aim carefully, you don't want to shot through a wall and hit someone you love. My brother advocates only a 410 loaded with salt for just that reason.
So all and all, I think the app is a much better Idea for my boat and I'll just keep the artillery locked up nice and safe. Far less messy.

Scott we think alike years ago I had a car that was built and had an issue with someone tampering with it and I said I would shoot and he hid behind the car I told him I would shoot through the car and he got worried I told him body work is not hard to do.

We live in Florida, they don't ask that many questions when the "moving target" is an intruder.

I'd sure be PO'd if someone messed w/ her though !
BTW, Asked my insurance man about coverage on my boat shortly after buying it. He told me >=20ft is covered under the home insurance (minus 1K deductible). He asked what I paid for it and we both had a good laugh.

I bet we do! I would not hesitate if I felt my family was threatened to defend them with all my ability.lecker68 wrote:Scott we think alike years ago I had a car that was built and had an issue with someone tampering with it and I said I would shoot and he hid behind the car I told him I would shoot through the car and he got worried I told him body work is not hard to do.

Life, limb and kin when threatened ..... definitely yes! Stuff..... hmmm (too many lawyers to deal with afterwards IMHO).
I have to admit though, I did let my ol' Ted Williams 12ga speak to a groundhog that kept burrowing next to my house this past fall and didn't
feel one bit guilty. Tricky little varmints. He cast no shadow this year, so spring's comin' early to my corner of Ray...... A 2fer! LMAO.
PS, That salt idea is intriguing though Alan !
