Nice job, looks vary good. I would not be too concerned about the flat cabal. Broken stern's weaken cabal, munch more than flat spots. Happy sailing to you, ( you broke it an you fixed it ) All is well now have some fun.

I'd love to Scott, as soon as I can get up your way.......and your boat is up on jack stands of course! The neighbors must have been howling as the watched me squeeze my can between the trailer rail and the hull to get to the forward keel area. It wasn't pretty I'm sure! I swear that trailer was getting closer to the ground the more I was working on it! Gotta check the air in the tires again LOL.

My mystery leak solved

Bruce...thanks for your excellent observation about the C-20 mystery leak. My C-20 has had a perplexing leak since I bought it, with a small amount of water collecting on only on one side of the swing keel bilge after sailing. I couldn't figure out why water also collected there even when the boat was on the trailer. I looked down my boat's keel-cable hole, and sure enough there's a small gap where the tube meets the cockpit. I never even considered putting the boat in a slip 'cause I thought she'd eventually sink from this mystery leak. Now I know the source, and the boat would be safe. Thanks for passing along your observations! - Wes

Great looking repair, how did you blend in the finish so well? Did you paint a large section or just polish in a small area?

Thanks All! ... and JM, I sprayed two coats of Krylon Almond -Dual satin paint/primer along the entire keel. Not a perfect match up close, but it's a keel. I figure that function is the primary importance of the bottom side of anything over forty years old! There was some minor chipping along inner bottom of the entire length of the shoal keel which I repaired, so the whole thing got sprayed.
