Well, I just spent the day removing 5200 that was used to seal all the portholes, all 4 of them.

My PO used white silicone to fill the entire circumference of the hull / deck interface. It leaks everywhere. I'll be using similar adult language soon too.

I already went through that when I bought the boat. Removing the toe rails and removing all the silicone was a very frustrating job.

in my experience, I'd rather deal with 5200 than sillycone!

Monty
If you didn't notice your last post was your 100th... good for you.

Gus
I'm dealing with a few missed steps by an unknown PO myself. I'll need to take a photo of one of them... words I feel would fail to convey my sentiments.

So this begs a question. Those users who bed portlights in 5200 burn in hell as do those who use sillycone and there arent enough kids in the neighborhood to chew the amount of gum I would require to bed 6 lights. What sealing product should one use?

That's the way I'm going. I couldn't find it locally, so I guess I have to get it online.

OOOH, I re-did two port holes in 5200 on my C22. Guess I'll have to keep her forever now so as not to impose my error on some innocent future owner.

Hey it was done in 5200 by the PO when I got her. I thought that's what your suppose to do. Oh well I'll fix her up again this spring, YEA! :P

Thanks
Alan

Butyl tape. You can find it online or from RV places. It's great stuff!
