Keel Pin Answer

Post by EmergencyExit »

Betsy, you are apparently correct that the pin is not viewable without taking the brackets apart. Hope this isn't redundant info - For a diagram and material specs go to the lizards site at

http://chryslersailing.lizards.net/

Click on manuals, then Chrysler C26 Owners Manual, then 1977 Detailed Drawings & Equipment Lists, then Swing Keel and Winch & Boom

Hi Beau,

Thanks for your message. The image for which you provided the link is one that pretty much led me to conclude that the pin is not accessible from the outside. This in combination with the fact that there is no horizontal entry point in the bracket...only vertical points for bolts that must hold the bracket onto the hull.

Given the condition of the brackets as they are, which is pretty poor, I foresee the need for fabrication of new brackets next year. Plenty to do until then, though!

Have a good weekend,
Betsy
