Well the redhead has abandoned the search for a vacation cabin cruiser/power boat that was spacious enough while being affordable enough..and so tomorrow we pick up a brand new 28' Catalina..
Ok so its not 'that kind' of Catalina..

Its dry weight is about the same as a C26. Overall length is 28' but living is 24', model is Catalina 243RBS.
Just got back from the 130 mile trip home..and it was ok except a few long steep hills and they weren't too bad..
