Forum Back up!

Post by CaptainScott »

Hey all,

10 months ago I had the forum moved to a new bigger, better, and reliable host. It was a hands off deal for us. They do everything!

Well, they did not do everything.
They moved everything except the pointers to the actual new host.
So the net affect was the original host, graciously hosted us for 10 months unpaid.

The original host eventually turned the lights out! YIKES! No harm, no foul as we had not paid as we had canceled the account and did not realize he still hosted us!

The new host now ready to make things right had a 10 month old database. We'd lose all those posts.

Frank Lewis, the original host admin was kind enough to turn us back on which allowed me to backup the current data and migrate us to the new host which occurred last night.

So, theoretically, we are good for the next 2 plus years. I paid 3 but 1 was burned just sitting,

Scott

PS: Bigger is NOT always better.

Great job Capt Scott. Was on the sidelines the last couple weeks, and just caught up with everything.

Thanks Capt Scott, I've moved to Big Spring, TX (west texas) Lake Nazworthy in San Angelo is 87 miles away. I noticed on the roster that one of our members is from San Angelo, TX.

I appreciate the kind words from all and you are all very welcome.
Not to worry on the forum, we are not going anywhere!

We have a great group and a lot of good hard to find information!

It is a great place to hang out or just drop in once in a while!

I'm a new member here, reading the postings and trying to learn a few things along the way.

I appreciate the effort and time you put into keeping the site up and running. It's pretty valuable to a newbie like myself.
