What else entertains you?

Post by CaptainScott »

I know, we all love sailing and I'd expect family to be top of the list but what else are your hobbies?
Yes, I sail, dabble with old Chevy's and ride a Harley with regularity, toss in classical guitar, kites, photography, and a drone and my days are full! LOL!

I've asked before and was very surprised with how many common hobbies sailors have!
What do you play with on non sailing days? Tell us about you!

Guitars, photography also here. Used to be large radio controlled airplanes, but not so much in recent years. Waiting to get some extended warranty done on my Mini Cooper S, then I've got a bunch of custom mods I want to do ! Love doing car stuff (except washing it)
The redhead says I'm unable to NOT be doing something, lol.

Guitars : I try to play daily.
Cooking: I love to try new recipes and really enjoy feeding people. I also love to eat and will try anything.
Gardening: I've got my tomato seedlings under lights as I type this.
Camping/Hiking/Birding: You know we all love being outdoors. We're sailors!
Art: Probably my first love and hobby, I just don't have as much time for it as I used to. I start projects, but often don't finish them.

Like EE, I prefer not to idle for long.

Hello all,
It's been along time since I've posted, but I just want to say how nice it is to know there is a group of people out there that shares so much in common. I also enjoy rc planes and low level rc heicopters. I very much enjoy music, both singing and playing. I play banjo, ukulaly, and guitar. I always bring my uku when we go out on the boat, and I frequently sing and play music at our church. I also enjoy camping. I'm a machinist by trade, and truly enjoy building things, and I have lots of plans for our boat. Including a custom bow pulpit rail with an integrated anchor roller. A custom stern rail with an intigrated swim ladder and folding transom arch for solar panels. And a dodger/bimmini/cock pit enclosure for those days when a 26 foot boat isn't big enough for 7 year old and therteen year old sisters.

Thanks
See Ya on the water.

I play guitar and sing.
I have been an advanced class amateur radio operator since 1974 and I am now studying for my extra class exam.
I also camp in a small Class C RV, grow tomatoes, go bicycling, shoot target pistol, do some cooking, and of course endless work around the house.

One of my biggest hobbies is riding and racing my mountain bike. I also enjoy tinkering with cars, driving off-road, camping, hiking, running, rock climbing, kayaking, and dirt bike riding. I have a lot of hobbies!

I like wind, so in addition to sailing, I fly a bunch of kites here on the Washington coast. Big kites, dual line stunt kites, and lots of other fun stuff.
Camping is also on the list.

Awesome Barry,
Are you anywhere near Everett? I see you mentioned Washington coast!
I live in South Everett and fly kite at boxcar park near the marina from time to time!

Howdy neighbor!

I'm down in Olympia, so we head out to Ocean Shores or Long Beach for kite flying. In fact, this weekend is the Grays Harbor Festival of Colors at Ocean Shores. Lots of BIG kites.

We sail our little Pirateer right here in Budd Bay. The South Sound Sailing Society has dinghy races all summer, and keeps trying to get my son into it. He's not that interested in racing, but I think that might change. There's this girl, see...

I'm a General class amateur radio opedrator, and like Astrorad, I'm studying for the Extra class exam, That's tough. I'm a Special Education Aide for grades K-2. I really enjoy singing in choirs at church and in the community. Also, camping and fishing. Thanks for asking this strand.

I love doing wood working. I spend alot of time in the garage just tinkering on different projects. I also thourougly enjoy being in the woods. I enjoy some target shooting from time to time. I also have spent healthy parts of the last three summers on the water in my 1988 Smokercraft Speedboat. In an earlier time.....I had a 1938 Chevrolet pickup that I had in the 90% way to restorarion and had to let it go during a very low time of being laid off for nearly 2 years. On to other things. Like SAILING! I have recently acquired my first sailboat. A Chrysler 22. And I have allready been tinkering on it. I have many plans of things to fix up on it. Which coincidentally is how I found this Forum. If all goes well I will putting in for the first time on Lake Michigan this coming up Monday.
