Size of Rope on tiller

Post by ktaylor982 »

Have noticed a lot of web discussion on rigging and size of running rigging on a Chrysler 22. I have not found out what diameter rope is used on a swing tiller or the length. Need to be replaced and not much to go on. Notice one discussion that a person had used a Green rope for the down position and Red rope for the up position and wish to do that on mine. Does anyone have dimension on these ropes? If I were to guess it would be 3/8" by 3 feet

there are (should be) two jam cleats on the tiller. Diameter would be based on what works with these cleats. 3/8 sounds about right. I'd start with 4' lengths and trim if needed.

Only had one Jam cleat on the tiller. Made it with 3/8 rope but I cut it to 5 feet. it worked out perfect.
