Is it practical to recut sails?

Post by Gary w/C26 & LS13 »

I’ve stumbled onto a good deal on a complete set of good used S2 8/meter sails. I compared that boats sail plan to my C26 and determined that the sails are a little larger than what is specified for the C26. Is it possible to to resize them?

It is possible but what is the labor going to cost you?

The seller measured them and it turns out the foresail will work just fine. The mainsail is two foot shorter than a C26 but has a 6” longer foot. Fortunately I have a spare boom that will accommodate that. When I posted the question I was thinking the sails were taller. For $250 shipped I’m going to start with these (better than nothing).
