Man O War mainsheet lenght and size

Hello,
I am new to the forum and I need a little help on the weight of line and how long the mainsheet should be. We use the boat at camp for teaching the campers how to sail. I am currently using some very heavy line used for climbing, as it was free and it is way to long, can someone help me out with info?
