interior of C-26

Post by foltz_d »

We just bought a C-26 and would like to restore the interior of it. The boat's name is My Desiree and we don't know much about the boat. It's a beautiful 1979. The engine is blown on her but we hope to replace the johnson 9.9 with a honda. Anybody have any comments or any ideas on the interior? Please let us know.

Congratulations ! You'll love her !

With the exception of the head area, we've removed all of our interior, lot of damage from years of water leaks before we got her.

We're going to use the stern berth area for storage, so we've removed that nasty set of drawers, and will build some more in the stern berth. Thinking of mounting our first aid kit, flares, fire extinguishers, etc were the drawers were.

Probably will change the galley from the port corner location to a setup where the sink is built into the starboard corner, and the stovetop in the port corner with countertop between them (top of counter would be first step coming from cockpit into cabin.) That way there is more workspace, and the banquette seats are about the same length.
Under the counter would be the drawers and a door to the stern storage area.

One great way to get ideas is to cruise ebay and look at interior pics for something you like.

Again congratulations,

Beau
