Running Rigging?

Post by thepartydog »

Hello all,

I recently purchased a 1980 C26. The old owner didn't know anything about the boat, and the running rigging wasn't rigged when I picked up the boat. How is your running rigging rigged? Examples for both the main and jib would be greatly appreciated. Pictures would be helpful. I have two single block pulleys attached to the toe rail forward of the mast, and I have two winches, one on each side of the cockpit, which I assume are for the jib. There are three double blocks for the main sail sheet. I appear to be missing the boom vang, though.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Welcome aboard !

If you haven't done so already, pick up a copy of the C26 manual at:

http://chryslersailing.lizards.net/

The latest manual there is 1979, but that will do. Basic rigging pictures are there, and I'm sure others here will chime in with additional mods they've made. (Jeff, you come to mind here)

Me, I don't sail mine anymore - I just keep it on a pedestal like the goddess it is, and bring it weekly offerings of plywood, vinyl coverings, fabrics, resin, paint, and stainless steel.
