saving a chrysler 20

Post by knotright »

came upon a "free" boat on cl.,,,, lol,, anyway,, good hull, mast, rigging, missing a few things and need some info if anyone can assist,, first big problem is someone has cut the rear part of the keel out, just behind the keel trunk, really need to get some good pics or lay my hands on another c 20 so i can make a mold to reproduce the piece thats missing, and i need a boom measurement. any assistance would be great, she's a beautiful boat that id hate to see at a landfill. im just north of atlanta georgia, near lake allatoona, but could travel to get the info i need. thanks so much in advance.

Here are a couple of photos of a c20, not mine and I'm sure to general to help you much. Go to Chrysler Sailing Association's web page you can find the c20's owner's manual there. We all have high hopes another Chrysler can be saved. 8)

C-20

Post by Chrysler20%26 »

I just had to go out to look at my C-20, after reading your post. The swing keel fits inside the trunk, does not extend past it. It is like the C-26 the swing keel fits inside the trunk. The 20@ 26 have about the same mast @ boom, look hear might help you. http://chryslersailing.lizards.net C-20 manual. I think the C--20 is faster an more fun to sail, than my C-26. But the 26 you can live in. We are all hear to help you, Bob

I had a C20 not long ago. Great boat for day sailing. Not sure what you mean with the "cut out section", It's like chrysler20%26 said, the hull on the C20 is made like a shoal draft boat only the keel swings out of the hull. A pic would be great. As for the boom, it is a foot shorter than a C22 boom. Right at 8 foot if memory serves me. cjreardon bought my boat, he may be able to provide you with an exact measurement.
