re-inforcing chain plates

Post by Gus »

I want to reinforce the factory short chainplates with something beefier. I like to sail the boat hard, and I think I'll sleep better knowing that the mast its secured to the boat. Any ideas or tips?

Hey Gus!

The link shows what mine looks like.. angled aluminum, not sure if it's OEM or not.. about 5 inches long on the bulk heads, a few inches on the cabin ceiling and 3 inches wide... I can get specific measurements but don't think it matters, don't like it make it bigger!

Guillaume, chain plates are the shrouds anchor points...
