Thanks for all the nice compliments. I just wanted to get the pics up so everyone could see them. We went to John Penekamp coral reef state park. We reserved a slip for 3 days at $22 a day. Included water and power. The ramp was fine but the slips have no parallel docks so boarding was from the bow. A little hard to do on a pointy sail boat. The first day we go there at 5pm, so we set up then left to goto publix to grab some food. We came back and dropped the Cruisair a/c into the hatch and hooked up a 22" LCD to watch. (3 teens with me). Next day was blowing about 30 mph and the big tour boat wasn't even going out. We went to key west that day by car. We cooked a meal in an electric skillet that night and went to bed. The next day we ate some cereal and dumped all the bedding and the A/c unit into the car. We left the dock and motored the 2 ish miles out to the atlantic. We hoisted the sails and set the GPS for molasses reef. 6 miles out. There was a confused look on the kids faces as the motor was shut off and our speed went from 7mph to 3. This was sailing I announced to muffled groans. Several schools of manta ray and two curious huge sea turtles broke the boredom for them as we sailed out to the reef. We reached the reef in about 2 hours and tied up to a buoy since you cant drop anchor there. The kids swam and took all those pictures. If you need a great camera may I recommend the Olympus tough cameras. Ours can be dropped 6ft and goes 15ft underwater. I requested the keel pics because I never knew what it looked like. The line is the scum line from where I pressure washed and painted it on the trailer. A detailed hand written note with degrees and winch turns done by the prior owner tells me that is the setting angle to use. We sailed most of the way back and motored as the wind died towards the canal. The water is slightly clearer than the finest swimming pool you know of. The park has bathrooms at the slips and showers a short walk away. There is lots to do at the park too. A good time was had by all. But I would not do it again with 4 people it was to small of a boat to sleep on.
