Eastern Chrysler Rally closer at hand.

Post by hp18carr »

Gentlemen... and Ladies

May is now upon us and the Eastern Chrysler Rally draws near. The Chrysler Crewsers Custer as it has come to be call (the last I've heard) at Lakeshore Marina on Watauga Lake, is destine to be fun even as a cluster. With no boat I for one will be wandering the dock early most days sporting a C26 hat from Mariner to cover the gray. If by chance you see a slightly overweight gentleman, (my first mate feels I push the limit on both those words... slightly and gentleman) with the look of a kid in a candy store as he walks the dock it will most likely be me. Hopefully the economy and the weather will not hamper many of those who wish to come.

Jmckamey

You are indeed a brave soul allowing this greenhorn aboard. With gratefulness I'll except your offer when we met. Be forewarned it's no joke... this will be my first time on a sailboat that's at sail. PM me the days you will be there I'll keep a lookout. Again thank you. :D

The rally starts the weekend before Memorial day (may 28-29) and runs through the week ending the weekend of June 4-5.

I can only grab one extra day off that week, and have some other commitments, but want to spend as much time sailing with the crew as I can. I've had time to do virtually nothing to Windward, or to the Bristol, so you all will be able to make fun of my necrotic varnish ;)

Probably a good idea to get a better handle on who's coming, when and with what.

SOUND OFF!

Other than the days I'm not tacking Jmckamey up on his generous offer, I'll be wandering the dock boat-less all week. My offer still stands if two or three of you need a place to leave your trailer.

Hmmm. I hope the thundering response isn't an indication of attendance.

Hey Jeff, I'll be putting the 22 back in a slip this week, so I'll be as much as I can during that time.

As much as I hate to say it..things have changed on my end, and I will not be able to attend..

I must appologize to everyone for dropping the ball on the T-shirts that my son was supposed to come up with.

I do wish you all a good time, and once again I do appologize

Oh this is so exciting, I can not wait to see the photos and read the stories from this event.

And remember my mantra "Lots of Pictures" and Most of all I want a photo of all the Chrysler Sailboats, with sails up, in a nice group shot. Now I could get picky and say I want everyone in a line on a Tack Headed away from the camera, or a V formation headed toward the camera. Honestly it does not matter. I just want that photo of everyone and every boat in the frame in whatever configuration the camera person can get. Man I wish I could be there too. It will be glorious I am sure! 8)

Thanks
Alan
