We spent all day mounting a new rudder. He bought it as a fixer and when he took it on his first test sail the rudder and a big chunk of transom fell into 40 feet of water. Well, it took the better part of 4 hours to get the rudder mounted, 3 hours and 45 minutes of which was securing a plate of plywood to the rebuilt transom to accommodate a different rudder (from a Laser).
I'll let you know if it works, but after a long day, we got it to the point where I can take it out next weekend. My avatar is now of "Dreams." Better (action shots) pics when we're wet.[/img]

..... and too, if you upload to Photobucket.com, they have the editing tools right there for you. Very nice! and wow, a chunk of transom fell off! Bummer that! It's all included in the learning curve though. Best luck to you!

This has actually been great, strange as that sounds. I now feel like this is MY boat. I have invested more than a little money into it. I have seen pretty much every angle and crevice of her, have passed through the "is this even worth it" barrier, and even left some skin in the hold... "Dreams" is really, truly my boat.

Ha-ha, love it! Share enough DNA with it and you bind yourself to it!
