These pics were all taken before I aquired the boat. There are two pics from the for sale ad that the former owner presumably found and bought from. I found the ad photos, ad having long since vanished, online and recognized the registration numbers so I downloaded them. I hope the former owner doesn't mind my sharing the photos of his family. One pic shows twice but photobucket suggests that if I delete any pics in an album the share link won't operate properly. I have more pics of this sailboat, Queen Anne's Revenge, buried somewhere in my computer but after hunting for over an hour I gave up. I'll look again soon. Notice the toerail damage starboard side. I doubt you can see the other marks, cosmetic in nature and no damage to the fiberglass or even the gelcoat, starboard or where the mast was ripped out of the deck by the storm in these photos. Close-ups are in the file I'm still looking for. I found a small puncture in the hull, smaller than a dime, below the waterline, aft of the v berth but fore of the salon area, near where the porta potty mounts but on the starboard side. This little sailboat narrowly survived a nasty tornado. It was eerie looking across the lake and seeing the path of destruction on both banks of land while the lake showed no signs that anything had ever occurred. The 2 story dock the sailboat was tied to flipped over. The pontoon boat and, I think, motorboat that were tied to the dock met a similar fate. By the time I arrived on the scene the salvage crew had already hauled off the carnage and my new sailboat, minus her mast, boom, step, and rigging but still afloat, was moored at a neighbor's dock. She had almost a foot of water belowdecks and I had no clue where it was coming from. We called for a tow to the nearest boat ramp and my love affair with my mistress began.

QAR looks like a beautiful boat! Crew for rent? The big one could come in handy at mast raisin' time! The minor damage repair is just enough to woo her into your heart..... something ta fix or improve upon makes you one of us! .... and we all love the stories, pics and videos (especially us who are in the hard water months)

I want a boat that drinks 6, eats 4, and sleeps 2.

She's stored over an hour away from me and I'm afraid to say I haven't gotten as much work done on her as I would have liked. I never expected to have her on the hard this long, right at two years. It's difficult to motivate myself to spend time and money on a hull with no mast so I've been concentrating my energy on the 76 in my driveway. I should have my trailer ready soon and I can bring QAR home. It should be much easier to get her shipshape here. How did you like our improvised boat crane? We lifted the aft section off the trailer, supported it with blocks, and then went to lift the fore end like you see us doing in the pics. I'm wearing a blue shirt standing on deck and yeah, the big guy is handy to have around when it comes to moving something heavy. I invited he and his wife to go sailing and no way will that happen anytime soon. I heard a hilarious story of their first sailing experience so it's gonna take some time and work to get them on the water. Anything for friends is worth it though, I say.
I think I'm going to change my photo links. I have one link on this post and another link on a different post on the discussion page. I believe I'll make some sub-albums and post a single link so you can choose which album(s) you'd like to view. There about 6 albums now with over 100 photos. Then you can see the 75 C22, Queen Anne's Revenge, as well as the 76 C22 (unnamed) I bought for parts which is nearly ready to splash. I also realized I mis-quoted the year model. I listed QAR as a 1974 but checked her paperwork today and I was wrong so I'll change the year model while I'm setting up my sub-albums.

A few people have told me I was crazy and that I should just go out and find another boat but I can't bring myself to discard something simply because it's not perfect. I nod politely and continue along my own path. With some time, effort, and investment she'll be good as new. She is in good shape and has not been altered by any previous owners. You're right about the wooing too. I'm glad you said you liked stories. I was afraid I was blathering on endlessly on my posts. I really like your new avatar, too cute! http://i1061.photobucket.com/albums/t46 ... ed0001.jpg
