pulled the windows out of the boat.

Post by Kevin Dreher »

my dad and i pulled the windows out of our c22 last thursday. pulling the windows wasn't too difficult...cleaning out all the old caulking, that is going to take a while. all four windows took about 40 mins to take out. i used an old margin trowel that was worn down and really skinny. i sild it along the inside of the window frame and gel coat. once i felt that i had cut all the caulking around the window i would use the margin trowel to carefully pry the windows off. it will be a few months until we can re caulk them, but its one project closer to sailing this summer. i uploaded a few pics to my photo bucket account if you guys want to check them out.

IT looks like your hull cleaned up nicely from the first pics of the boat. Are your windows as clean as they look in the pics? Will you reuse them? Don't you just love indoor storage?

Nice job. Noticed the jacket & hoodie. That's the working garb here too. Just re-worked my boom with a new gooseneck. SPRING IS COMING!

thanks, and yeah the windows will be put back into the boat. they are in good shape, they just need some good cleaning and resealing. Its nice to have room in my garage for the boat....know if only i could get some heat going in the garage. the hull is a work in progress but it looks ten times better then the day i brought it home....and she does clean up nice...haha.
