Rub rail

Post by maRaider »

One of the discouraging things that the previous owner of my Man O War left me with was a rub rail that was torqued and twisted so badly it would not hold onto the boat any more. A couple of gentle bumps on the dock and it would sproing off at the corners. I tried screws, glues and other remedies, but could never get something that actually looked good.

I looked online and there are no parts available for the MOW (not shocking) so I had to make my own. I am really happy with the result! I like the way the black outlines the boats sleek shape.

I still have to paint the new corner pieces I made to replace the old broken ones (so they will not be white for long) but I am done for the day. It's Independence Day and I have some family things to do.

I posted a photo of it here: http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID ... 9#allposts
