CHRYSLER DOCS TEMPERARILY UNAVAILABLE.
Hey all,
I have temporarily removed all Chrysler docs from the forum front page.
Our server continues to have space issues. While I have had the space allocation increased 5 fold I wish to find all offending space hogs and remove them and set into place a method to monitor them for future preventive purposes.
I will re add the documents once our directory structure has been scrubbed.
This should be done in the next few days!

Ooo. I like the idea but I'm betting that would be very space intensive thus making it much more expensive. Heck my photo's alone could bring the sight down. Add everyone elses photo's in and I'm thinking it would be truly humungus.adamh wrote: How about an area on the site that could be used exclusively for boat pictures?
Thanks

The other day I was on the Chrysler Sailing Association website looking in the photos section when it dawned on me. I was having a ton of fun looking at the pics, mods, etc., of all the members boats. Only problem is nothing has been changed or added since 2004. Would it not be fun to have an area like that with current users that we could use to exchange ideas

Just want you all to know the idea of sharing photos is a fabulous one!
There are many technical concerns to deal with as far as size limitations, preventing spammers and ads, COST, etc etc.
I will work with EE and see if there is a reasonable way to do it. On our main page I started with the idea and actually have a "Photos" link which goes no where for now. There is a videos link also where I listed several youtube videoes related to Chrysler sailing and boats.
I would expect initially one would email a photo to admins at the forum and the photo would be manually loaded and a link set to it. The other method is hosting elsewhere and simply linking to the photos. Either way would require admin time to set these up.
. . . and . . . . . space . . . .
Yes, space costs money.Currently the forum has zero ads. Zero commercials. Zero GOOGLE crap.
My personal preference is to keep it this way. As such, the costs of the forum has been my burden and partially supported by the Tshirt donations a year ago. I literally just paid for 3 more years of domain name and 3 years of web hosting. Yes the costs are relatively low and not a burden for my family. I'd like to keep it that way so there are no interuptions in the forum access like we had a few years ago.
I will talk with the web host and see if there is a financially reasonable way to host photos but I suspect we may be better off letting the free sites host them for us and just linking to the photos.
Your requests have been heard!
