I would like to reconnect the head in my C-26. I assume it's original equipment (Headmate, by Wilcox Crittenden), but don't know for sure. The previous owner removed all the hoses, but left the black Nauta holding bladder in the boat. He wrote down the dimensions of the outlet hose, pumpout hose, and vent hose. He didn't write anything about the head water supply hose, so I'm wondering if this originally took water from the freshwater holding tank, or from the through-hull fitting that he has connected to a 12V washdown hose. I'll be sailing on lakes, so would get freshwater from the through-hull fitting.
Does anyone have any advice on doing this reconnection? I haven't tried the head yet to see if the pump works and it seals. The waste holding bladder seems to be ok, though. I filled it half way with water and dont see leaks. It has one 1.5" fitting in the top center, and another 1.5" fitting in the top corner. Do you know when one goes to the head and which one goes to the pump-out fitting on the deck?
Thanks,
Craig
reconnecting head in my C-26--seeking advice
he took the raw water inlet for the head flush and re-routed to use as a 12v washdown.
make sure you have a seacock on that thruhull and also make sure your head does not leak and that you have a proper loop in the line and that the vent is clear and not clogged, by law you need to have the waste go into a holding tank with a pumpout... not discharge outside the boat ..so make sure the holding tank is correct nonpermeable type to hold waste..
curious... withthe OEM head.. can you actually have room to sit and use the head with the door closed.?
