Hi I have a C22 and we sail on a tidal estuary. The main engine is a 5HP Mercury outboard which gets us inand out of the moorings without any difficulty.
The boat also came with a 2hp Mariner which was sold as a back up in case the main engine failed.
My question is is this big enough to propel my C22 in a tidal current?
is a 2HP Mariner engine big enough?
Re: is a 2HP Mariner engine big enough?
Sorry for the late reply, I usually only ck general discussion.
If there is much currant 2 hp won’t be near enough.
