Hello and Help!

Postby Dave&Scott » Thu Aug 11, 2005 6:51 pm

My 9-year-old son Scott & I just bought a C-26 and brought it to Montana. We're actually from the Texas Gulf Coast - Scott was born on Galveston, and I sailed there for a few years. In June we visited a friend in Corpus who runs a yacht charter service, and Scott got to sail on a MacGreagor 36' cat. He's hooked now, and we're getting "Lauriana" ready to sail at Fort Peck Lake.
I've got some questions on hooking up twin batteries, a power inverter, and many other things. Does anyone have a schematic/pics of battery placements? Obviously they have to be vented especially inside the hull, but where can you mount them? I don't much like the aft-mounting of a battery on one side and a gas tank on the other just behind the tiller. How has anyone out there done it?
Thanks for any help.

Dave and Scott,
Congratulations on your C26 ! Not sure about interior/central battery placement tho..my lazarette behind the tiller was completely taken up by a gas tank, so my batteries are in the port cockpit lazarette....
