The 1st mate noticed right away that the shoal draft rudder on our C-26 made it easier and very responsive to steer, you will like it.

				Wow! That's really nice work.
I noticed about a 1/4" up and down slop in my rudder post last weekend, but I think I'll wait until the off season to mess with it.

Oh, sorry Adam, I got lost in the length of the thread and responded when tiered. I thought Tom and Cathy had done the work.

However the Kudos are still all for you Sir! Nicely done!

Thanks
Alan

Where did you find your shaft collar? Is it SS? I don't want to use aluminum again as it was a real pain to remove.

The rudder shaft is 1.5" O.D. SS with a 1/8" thick wall.
I purchased it from a company out of Edmonton Alberta Canada.
If you want I can try and track down the exact company, just let me know.
Thanks all for the kind comments on the rudder. It's been a bigger job than I had anticipated but it is now done and ready for the water. I will be setting sail next week some time and I will let you know how she handles. ( a novices point of view anyway)
Here are the final pictures...sorry about the size for those of you who have dial up - this is the only size I have at the moment.

Before I put the boat in the water I wanted to step the mast and make sure the rigging changes I had made worked, so here are some pictures of those too.
I have built new chain plates that bolt through the hull - you can see the plates on the above photos.

Thanks,
Adam

Nice looking! I am anxious to hear your results as well. Did you free hand the foil design or use software?
