OK,

Spent way too much time but think I've figured out how to get some HD video edited and then posted on You-tube!

We went out last Saturday in winds that were 15-30 in the bay and then a nice steady 20'ish further out. We reefed the main and put up our 26sq/ft storm jib and it was actually a very nice sail... I'm still recouping after surgery so I'm supposed to be careful etc bla bla bla...

You can see in the video not much heelin even in the gusts, Pam was a bit nervous, guess cuz we got knocked over 3 times last year and had to bail out below in the cabin but not this time anyway!

Hope this works and lookin forward to get more video up, like maybe of 4 C-22's in August!

In you-tube, to the right of the progress bar is a "HQ" button, which will play the video in high quality when pressed, not bad to view even in the full screen mode, which is the next button to the right of the "HQ" button...

I like the way you rigged your GPS/Depth finder. I see you had your main reefed and the storm jib. Nice, real nice.

I was listening to your cable hum I was thinking 5 to 6 knots, then you showed your speed on the GPS, 5 to 6 knots. Yea Baby!

Alan, I went with the "RAM" system, and have a long and a short arm on it. Gives me a really nice range of motion I didn't have with just the long arm. Kinda spendy, but Pam gave me the unit for Christmas, so I splurged on the mount and rationalized I couldn't build one with one arm anyway

Our slip is in Bayview ID, by Faragut state park... south end of Lake Pend Orielle, Sandpoint ID is on the north end of the lake,,,,

Your boat is set up well, where did you get the storm jib? do you have measurements for it? Im about to cut one down from a big boat and make right on my C22 and Ive been trying to figure out the jib square footage for a double or triple reefed main. you back stay tensioner looks excellent.

Hey Billy, there is a fleet of Ranger 28' on that lake! One of them is our old boat! It's a Kent Ranger 28' sloop tan hull with racing strips. Sleek boat but a bit like a pregnant guppy because it was built around the old IOR rules in the early 80's!

Her name was 'Spirit'.
If ya ever get a picture of her, I'd love a copy!

Got the storm sail at " The sail warehouse" here's the link... not sure it will be the exact same sail but?? Just select Chrysler 22 in the search, select storm sail, an you have it with the measurements also...

Curious about the split backstay and the depth finder set -ups...

did you mount a in-hull transponder ( if so where?) or a temp transom mount... great set-up...

also is that a boom preventer I thought I saw rigged there?

I mounted the transducer in the cubby on the port side forward of the swing keel bracket... I used a 4" septic clean out cap with a screw on lid, notched a groove for my wiring, and siliconed in place. A couple small dabs of silicone on the tip and end keep the transducer in place w/o affecting the readings, and then just filled it with water. It's not permanent so I can take it out easily... I'll post some picts in a couple days....

I have a boom vang, is that what you saw?? I wasn't using a preventer that day...
