Mario,

I used a good marine grade varnish on mine, 3 coats to be exact.

Good luck,

Wow, that looks good.

I have to add the refinishing of my tiller handle to my to do list this summer.

Thanks

EE's tiller got 8 coats of Interlux GoldSpar, it just glows in the sun !

Also tied a turk's head knot near the forward end of the tiller to dress it up. Sweet.

Nice, but its a bit too squarish... I'd make it a bit more rounded, specially at the end, after hours of handling the tiller in a long crossing, your hands are going to hurt with the sharp edges, JMO

wow, that looks "stout!" curious, how long di he make it? I would attach a fitting for a tiller extension now, before finishing it... also I got something at westmarine..it is like an epoxy sealer that you then varnish over.... also..for us car guys...what is goin' on in the background? I see a classic dune buggy, a willys and something that might be a dusenberg.... whoa

I believe its 43 1'2 inches, the next ones will be a little more rounded. he also made a rudder & daggerboard for my sons Scorpion.

I like the gerth, I need to mount at least to cleats to it and its not hard to hold , I'mnot sure what the tiller extension would be for. As you see with the cars my hands are seasoned due to restoration of them.

I wish I could get a good enough picture to show the quality put in to this.

It could be rounded off easy but I'm going to use it as it is and see what the feel is. My C-22 is set up for easy one person operation and the tiller seems to fit very well.
