LS-13 mast heel, sails

Post by Dented »

I picked up an old LS-13 in the hopes of sailing it one day. I noticed it seems to be missing the part that the mast fits onto in the bottom of the boat. I
think it is called the heel. So if anyone has one or can tell me where to get one I would appreciate it. Also am missing the sails and could use a used set.
Thanks,Dennis

Do you still need the mast fitting? I can get a new one to you.

I'll check that for you. My guess would be $50.

Maury...just curious

Maury,

I am curious as to whether you are parting out several LS-13's or if you have found a source for various old Lone Star parts. I have a 1960 LS-16 (#249) and usually have to "McGuiver" my parts.

I have a guy that I can take an existing part to and he will make a new one for me. I have that particular piece on my own boat so I can just take it to him and he will make one. He runs a C&C machine where he works.

Sorry for the delay. 50 is probably a fair price but I was trying to go cheaper. I may be able to put something together.
Thanks

Ok Dented. Just let me know. I just got back from my cabin and I removed it from the boat and brought it home. I will keep it with me until next weekend and I'll put it back.

I checked out the sites you listed Cliff. Great resources! I bookmarked both pages. I didn't find what dented was looking for though. Awesome stuff on race lite.

Best Regards,

Thanks Cliff for the posting. Good stuff to have.
Thanks Maury for looking. I have a question. When looking at the Dwyer mast site if I click on a mast size it comes up with some fittings. Is the thing they call a "step" something I could use for the mast to fit into? I have never seen what was supposed to be on the LS-13 for the mast to set into so I do
not know what it looks like.

Thanks much,Dennis
