Just got back from sailing for 3 day while the wife and I stayed on the boat.

My wife even got into it and liked to be at the tiller.

I would have to say I can't seee how anything could be better. even did some night sailing.
(I did some night diving to find a set of keys a woman droped in the water )

I really think Southern Wind like being back in the water after a 15+ year hibernation. the only miss hap had to be me breaking my left index firnger on the keel wench. ( Good thing my wife was a nurse)

All around a great experiance and I can't wait to get out again.

Any tips on what you/boat did to make your wife's trip a happy one ( boat voyage related details only please) I always worry about the bathroom and shower and all that girl stuff on an extended voyage that is so important to happy cruising with a spouse.

A big potty and a solar shower, all you need

Sucks about the finder, did the winch friction clutch didn't engage? One of the first things I did was the replace the old one. I bought a new one in tractor supply for something like 70 bucks I think.

lol responses are slow due to I was all ready only a 2 finger typist.

When it came to making the wife happy the porta head and solar shower made a hugh infuance (she found out after it was over the marina had real showers i'm sure "lettepng her be captain and in control" also helped (you married guys know what I'm saying)

I really think the idea of her seeing me here in the fourm getting alot of great advise and information so that there was nothing but confidence comming from me the whole time we were out there.

If your going to ancor someplace I would do it when its light so they can see you arn't going anywhere.

My wife seemed to like this more then our bus campouts.

I'm sure its going to take a few more of these smooth sailings before we blue water sail.

Funny thing is she has been begging to go fishing and got her license but forgot her gear so I guess its another overnight sail.

as far as the other lady ... I need to lube the slugs some how and change the rudder line , and the keel wench ....it and the BFH have a date.

I'm so glad that it has all come togather for you!!

We have two more years til the kids are done with school, and then the wife and I are making plans to look into a southern life style, who knows we could be neighbors, as long as there is water nearby!!!
