The new traveler came in. Can you see Sundowner's tail wagging.
Now - I just have to get the old traveler off and the new one on.

To use the youthful vernacular, bling for your boat?

I told my wife that I was just going to set the traveler in the corner of our bedroom. It was just too pretty to use.

Had it on for a couple of weeks - love it. Had to fabricate the new teak pads.
Kinda proud of myself.

Next on the list is main sheet deck block. Just placed the order.
Last of the deck hardware upgrades - I think.

Purrrty!
I like it a lot. I'm thinking of putting a mid boom travelor on my project boat but not yet decided....
How do you like sailing it??? Does the line get in your face if close hauled and going below?? Can you tell me roughly how far it is from the forward part of your hatch to your mast?? How far back from your mast on the boom are the three boom bail attachments???
Feel free to PM the answers so I don't hijack folks from the bling
Thanks!
Billy

1. I love it. I am big fan of a good traveler, maybe from my Hobie 16 days.
2. The lines come from each end of the traveler so the position of the boom has no affect. Side note: I read in a sail mag. the suggestion of making the lines like a "bridle". No bitter end. The loop "bridle" goes from one end of the traveler then to the other side of the travel. When I pick up the line I have control of both sides of the traveler which I can reach from the wheel. Neat.
3. Don't know, my guess would be too much of a guess. My boat is a 30 footer so I ams sure that it is rig different. I'll take a look next time I am out.
