Winter Projects (Sidebar)

Allright so it wasn't a refit or anything, but I did get my first winter project, although small, complete.

My table needed a "dress-up", so I decided to seal and repaint the bottom of it. I also hated the the pin nails that held the coping on, as they were rusted.

After sealing the old flat black plywood bottom, I painted it with a closly matching paint to the boats interior, I then removed all the old nails and replaced them with ss screws. 4 coats of wax on the original formica, and there we have one project done.

Next my rudder....

Looks nice. One more thing to add to my list. Bringing mine home Thanksgiving morning. It get's me (and my brothers) out of kitchen duty. :)

This is one of my projects too, but the ply on mine is pretty much gone. I'll need to start from scratch. Also, the table mounting base is all but digested by water that encroached into this area. Camping World - here I come!

Real nice, I started making a new table last year and have yet to finish it. All I need to do is lay the formaica and install it in the boat. But I spent more time sailing this summer then fixing. It was glorious, now back to fixing. :D

Thanks for the update and the photo's,
Alan

I did away with my table since I never used it, instead I just dropped it down to the bunk position and use the space under it for the porta potty and storage. I cut the table in half and added hinges so you can lift it up to get to the stuff under it without moving the whole thing.
