EE's crew are down Fort Morgan, AL way for the New Year's weekend, but we'll be checking in as we can.

You are at Ft Morgan? We were over there last spring, JJ (14 year old son) was participated in a civil war battle reenactment, and also a "living history" day. He spent the nigh in the fort itself. They were going to have scale model ironclads out in the mouth of the bay, but the models had motor and big wave issues. They just displayed the boats on the trailers instead. Plywood and fiberglass construction, about 20 feet long. Mobile bay looks like it would be an interesting place to sail.

Hey, we are about 2 miles from the fort itself at Navy Cove. Those old forts are amazing to tour

Cold and blowing like stink, top gust was 32, averaging about 16.
Place has boat slips but had nothing to bring with me..I can see Dauphin Island across the bay when its clear.

Sounds like fun! Are ya taking pictures for the rest of us??

Have you taken the ferry across to dolphin island? We did that when we stayed at the campground on dolphin island a few years back.

Darin, we have, a couple years ago. Probably will tomorrow even tho we have to drive back to Gulf Shores to turn in the keys and come back out the peninsula to do that. We usually stay on Dauphin since its closer for us.


Next time you can come over this way, check out Pirates Cove in Josephine !!! Right on the water and just plain fun!! A lot closer to you than FM is. We're planning on the Wooden Boat Show this spring

Nice, I should hook up a boat an go on down to see the sun comming out of the water. Hear the sun just comes out of the ice this time of the year, but it does look cool.

I remember seeing the signs for Pirates Cove passing thru Elberta on the way to Fort Morgan. The Perdido wooden boat festival looks interesting.
