Be truthful I'm I the only one who thinks with both sides up it looks a little like dumbo the elephant?









The flaky bits at the bottom of the hose is rust coming off the old winch (another part to replace)



In this photo of the old winch you get a bettter look at the floor... I have yet to do a drill test, but I hold out little hope for the sole floor.



In this photo you can clearly see the water mark on the Keel winch support... (not good). I'm of a mind that E.E. was not the only Chrysler caught up in Katrina's wrath.



With the Keel trunk table completly removed the Keel trunk itself is deceptrively small. I still need to remove the old carpet glue you see falling off.

What are you going to do with the keel trunk? Re-carpet or paint?

If it was up to me I would just paint, I feel if there were any future leaks anywhere on the boat the carpet would just soak up the water, perhaps alluding my detection longer than I would want... but the first mate has the last word on such matters.

So know do we refure to them as dumbo tables sounds like a good technical term.

The tables on a fix keel is differernt.

Personally. if you want to get the boat launched soon, if the floor is wet, I would cut away the floor area under the compression post and at least put a dry piece of lumber under it. Your teak post looks to be in much better condition than mine and the mast would have a good foundation for this season. You can decide later if you want to remove the entire floor.
