I did put the Bucc in the water for the first time ever for me but I didn't go to the lake to sail. I've been working on the boat since I got it in February. This was to check my work for leaks and functionality. Cockpit stayed dry as a bone, no bailer leaks, (probably should say "yet"), YES!!! Front and rear hatches stayed dry too! I dinked around with the boat and like what I found. Hopefully next weekend, weather permitting, I'll really sail. Thanks to those who helped me with the annoying little stuff....and thankfully there was no big annoying stuff!!!

Hey Vik, sounds great. I'm just about to do the same with my C-22 that I bought last November - it's just about at that point to put into the water. I'd like to do the same as you did and put it in the water to...see what happens. Heck, I think we both have that initial "will it float" feeling, no? I'm in the process of replacing all the large wooden parts in the cabin, replacing the electrical wiring and lights with LEDs and I just today finished removing a lot of that old glue on the walls that kept the canvas siding up. Lots of work but its all gone now and it looks great.

Thnaks 69, Alan & bryan! Depending on work load I may take it out later this week as the weather here looks quite promising.

bryan, I know your C-22 has a lot more "stuff" on it than my Bucc. Sounds as if you've had a busy and productive winter!! Good luck when you launch her.

Even tho I haven't sailed this boat I can tell there's already a bigger one in the future. Momma and I ain't spring chickens and something with a cabin we could overnight in and some creature comforts would be nice. Right now I feel as if I'll keep the Bucc just for a quick weekend sail on local lakes. Who knows, it's all subject to change, huh.

You all have just witnessed the birth of yet another case of TwoFootItis! LOL!

I've seen many cases of this and in fact have a bad case of it myself!
My wallet generally keeps this disease in check however I have yet to find a cure!!!!

Shark....don't even ask about sports cars, rifles, handguns or bamboo fly rods. Are you aware of a cure?

Vik, yes we just happened to have a very mild late winter/spring here in Minnesota (many who have lived here all their lives, myself included, can't remember it being any nicer) which allowed me to get to all sorts of projects on the boat - can't tell you how happy I am with that! We usually don't get the nice weather until May or even June!!!

Good luck with any projects you have and keep us posted with your first sail on the Bucc.
