Hi Folks,

sorry to bring up again a topic that has been discussed a lot, but I would really appreciate your advice. I want to buy a 155 genoa for my C22. I only have a 110 right now and in the summer when the winds are slack on my lake the 155 would be a big help.

I guess I will stick with the hank on type. Where should I look first? There are quite a few places to buy sails and I have no experience with any of them. Lastly, for you guys with roller furling, is it worth the cost and trouble to install? I sail solo usually and don't race much.

FYI:
I bought a set of very nice sails from FX sails. The sails that finally arrived were very nice and work very well however it was a miserable purchase process. The time it took to deliver the sails was more than twice the original promise. I had to call many times and escalate my concerns.

As far as roller furling I love it. I do not have it on my C22 though. Many times I have simply let loose the sheets and furled up 1/3 of the sail and simply pulled the sheet again all from the cockpit. Very nice, safe and easy. I would love to add it to my 22 but for my use it is not worth the cost to me only because it is not my primary sailboat. If it was I would add furling.

Racers will not like your furling ideas due to lost sail shape and control of that shape.
