Has anybody had trouble installing a depth sounder in the C26? The sounder that came with the boat no longer registers a reading beyond 3.5'.

I bought a fish finder to replace it but couldn't find a spot in the boat in which I could get an accurate reading (yes I used a bag of water to test).

Do I have to core into the boat, because I have a problem with drilling extra holes in my boat particularly in that direction, or is there a better system to purchase?

Mine is siliconed to the hull just forward (10") and starboard of the original transducer thruhulls. This was done by the PO and I'm assuming it worked. I can let you know as soon as our water gets soft. Mike
