Mondays question, Sorry!

Well, folks, sorry.
I know I've missed a question or more in the past. Most were because I was away or otherwise totally not ready.

Today, Sunday I usually prepare a monday question and confirm the answer however I am just not up to it.

Yesterday, Saturday, I did an Iron Butt run on my motorcycle. For those knot in the know ( catch the pun?), the iron but SS1000 is where you must take your motorcycle and ride one thousand miles within 24 hours. All miles must be documented and provable so just saying "I did it" does not count. Gas receipts with addresses and photos of the odometer plus signed witness statements are all required!

Well, I completed it with 26 other bikes. LEft home at 4:00 AM Saturday and arrived home at 1:00 AM Sunday. I added 1,061.3 miles to the odometer of my ole Harley in less than 24 hrs but not without issues! LOL!

Needless to say my arse is not iron and is DRAGGING today! My Harley looks worse than I do! LOL! I smoked the ignition switch on the road however I watched Mcgyver so the reapir was easy! LOL!

Speeds off 110 MPH plus were not a surprise. Neither were the tickets!
Cruising at 90MPH + was common in the group. Canyon backroads with limits of 45mph were traversed at 85+ mph. Sparks literally flew off bikes in the evening since cruisers are not meant to corner like that! No Zip-N-Splat bikes came with us.

Well, enough of that. I'm bushed. Way to bushed to trust the accuracy of any question and answer I may propose.

The problem of heeling on a Harley is that they put the ballast on top, just aft of the handlebars & gas tank.

Had other friends complete this run using I-25, Denver to Albequerque & back. It's an award you earn. Congrats!

1000 miles in 24 hours I'd be walking funny
I've done it in a van, can't image doing it on a bike.

I'll throw out a question since everyone looks at Scott's posts.

As to heeling;
My C22 will heel to about 25 degrees and hold that through a range of wind. Once gusts take us over the 25 degrees, weather helm takes over and deck washing begins, and though white knuclke sailing was fun when I was younger and still is on the Sailfish, I don't like to spill my beverage.

If you folks could chime in at what wind speeds do you use what sail combinations... say on a beam reach ?
Example;
5-15 MPH; 110% & full main
15-25 MPH; 90% & 1 reef main
etc
etc

I like to sail on windy days, but it would be nice (and safer) to have a cheat sheet to set my sails before I leave the dock.
