It has become extremely noticable. This Global warming.

It has been almost NINE MONTHS since Seattle area has seen a day over 75 degrees!!

OMG! I'm dieing of heat stroke here! 25 of the last 28 days with rain . . . . .


I have to wear SCUBA gear to ride my Harley now days!

Record low for the high yesterday in Spokane, 55 degrees,, and yea it rained all day too

Folks have been complaining about global warming since the end of the last ice age

I don't even allow the kids at school to use the term "global warming". I insist that they use the term "climatic change" instead. And I attempt to enlighten them to the fact this is just another ebb of the tide in the lifespan of our planet.

Just out of curiousity, and without Googling, does anybody know when the last Ice Age was? I'll answer that later.

I can't speak for fact but I do remember that in school we were taught we were going into an ICE AGE!!! Go figure . . . . .

Last Ice Age was about ten minutes ago. It was followed closely by the Myers Dark and Coke age.

It was preceded by a radical warming of the grill's surface resulting in the extinction of a burger.

I love summer.

If memory serves....which is highly unlikely....wasn't the last "real" ice age about 10,000 years ago? Not counting a couple mini ice ages and the "year without a summer" in 1816, I believe?

I think the last ICE AGE ended in the 1400's. Lots of trees were cut down in Europe to keep people warm.

I was a Geography/Anthropology student in college and am currently working on my Masters to become an Earth Sciences teacher, so this is a subject near and dear to me. I can't even stand to watch the liberal media harp on about something they understand SO LITTLE about.

The last REAL Ice Age started about 13,000 years ago and lasted until about 10,000 years ago. That 10,000 figure is also the generally accepted end of the Bering Ice Bridge. So kudos to sharps4590.

The Mini Ice Age, so named in 1939 by Matthes, was actually a series of cold troughs about 100 years apart with minor warming spells in between. It started in the mid-1600's and the last of them ended in the mid-1800's, just a few years before our Civil War.

The Year Without A Summer that sharps made reference to was indeed 1816. It is also sometimes referred to as the year "Eighteen Hundred and Froze To Death". It is commonly accepted that the driving force behind this colossal climatic change was man's use of fossil fuels. NOT!!! Actually, the majority of the credit goes to the eruption of a SINGLE volcano, Mt Tambora. And scientists who are NOT in the pay of the liberal media are beginning to believe that as much as 50%-65% of greenhouse gases actually are the result of volcanic activity. Natural fires and burning bring that percentage close to 80 or 90 percent.

Throw in the New Madrid earthquake in 1812, the Great September Gale in 1815 and I am fairly glad I was not born back then!
