OK, that was just plain NUTS!! He's lucky the Chief didn't fine him. I've got a pretty good idea how heavy the mast on our Chrysler is. This thing must be massive. And I know I'm being a bit perverse here, but I think it would have been too funny if after all that it made the boat too tall to fit under the bridge.

That boat has been moored near the bridge de masted for a while now, we have sailed past it a few times. Not sure what the problem was.

Yea nine hours to rase a mast, I think I would have paid the $200, the fines for the next guy will be atleast that. If he would have waited till this weekend I would have helped :?

Whats funny is more then once were we told about useing a few different bridges when we we trying to get our mast up in the Manteo area north of Oriental. There was no marina with a crane. in the area thou.

I'd give them high marks for tenacity and creativity. I'm afraid to detail
some of the methods we used to hang the support I-beams that now
support our house. Let's just say that our skidloader wasn't big
enough to do all the lifting and leave it at that ;)
