well, this saturday i should be the new owner of a 77 chrysler c22. 1200 dollars later anyway. i have been reading up on smaller sailboats for the last few months and this group of people are more dedicated to their boats then any others i've read about. hopefully its a good thing....haha. looking forward to getting it wet this spring...and the loads of info on this site will come in handy.

Looks like you did some homework and already knew we like to see picts... Ya we do, lotsa them!

So you probably also know to check a few things, like your keel brackets and keel cable. The week link for sure, but these boats are solid. Big enough w/o being to big, at least it was plenty big sanding the bottom!

So get workin and be ready for the Spring! Ask away and tell us your story...

Welcome Kevin! These guys took me in, a helpless landlubber, and helped get me and my old Bucc sailing quickly and safely. There's an incredible amount of knowledge and experience here and they were willing to help even a rank beginner, patiently I might add. I have nothing but respect and fondness for the guys and gals on this board. When they say "welcome', they mean it.

Good to have another Chrysler sailboat in the group. We never get enough Chryslers or stories of Chryslers or photo's of Chyslers or documentation of Chryslers. Ahhh, they are darn fine boats!

thanks for the warm welcome, i have been lurkin on this site for about a month and just about read every post related to the chrysler 22.....so much great info. i live in northern mn, moose lake, its a small town about 30 mins south of duluth. i found the boat on craigslist...then agian on this forum. the boat is currently located in cedar mn....soon to by my garage. have a good night and thanks again

Another Minnesota Chrysler, were getting quite the fleet here. I looked at your boat when the previous owner was asking a fair amount more money.

Are you planning on sailing on Superior? I keep my C22 on Mille Lacs but trailer it up to Rainy Lake once a year, usually in October.

yeah i managed to talk the guy down a little in price. ok a decent amount...but the boat has no cushions, out board, and i told him about other problems i read about. mostly on this site, like keel brackets and cables. he also said that he would snow blow around it or have his kids shovel it out. nice.

i will probably put it out on lake superior once in a while and vermillian lake, that would be a good time...i would love to sail it from grand protage to Isle royale island...but that is 25 miles from the main land so we will see. it would be a great sail though.

moose lake in veggie tales....i had no idea.

mcrandall, the hockey reference might be jamie langenbrunner he grew up in cloquet mn about 15 miles from moose lake and he has a cabin on a lake outside of moose lake a couple of miles.

Jamie played for the Kalamazoo K-Wings back in 95-ish, I think, before he went up to the bigs.

Ahhh, a nice sail on the Gitchigoomie out Isle Royale...THAT sounds nice!

There is another C22 on Vermilion that shows up on Craigslist every now and then. Grand Portage to Isle Royale is on my to do list for the C22 after the keel brackets and backstay get replaced.

I'll be sailing from the Apostles Islands to Isle Royale this summer in my Cal25 which is more suitable for the open water.

I don't want to highjack this thread... but I'm starting to feel left out with just one sailboat so I decide to purchase another that will be suited to my newest sailing adventures and join the club! Cheers from the frozen southshore of lake erie!
