Oh it was fantastic. Smaller due to the economy but still too big to see it all in one day. But we tried real hard anyway to see it all.
Here are the 3 Amigo's in full shore going rig at the show.

Here's one small section of the show itself.

Here's Scott and Greg on the bow of Captain Scotts new 50 foot Beneteau. Okay another couple made an offer on it while Captain Scott and Greg posed on the bow with the Space needle seen right over Gregs shoulder. Seriously a couple was filling out the offer right there on the deck not 5 minutes after I shot this photo. I've sold large nice homes for less then this boat coast.

And a disclosure, Scotts wife wants this boat and I stepped right up and advised him to get it for her. "Happy Wife, Happy Life."
And this was Captain Scotts response to me...

(Double Click to enlarge) That looks like a yes to me!
Lots more photos to come from Captain Scott and Greg, These were just the photo's I had on my camera.
Thanks
Alan

Silly grins on every page! Sounds great. I know you took lots of pictures and I'd like to see and hear about the neat ideas you ran across that you're thinking about incorporating.

Oh Paul you know me all too well sir!
Yup, check this photo out. A motor mount for your outboard motor on the front of your trailer. No more motor hanging off the back of my boat driving down the road bouncing around.

(Double Click to Enlarge) I've got to make one of these for my trailer.
Thanks

I saw that picture in your photo album but thought it was advertizing the motor, not the mounting location. On my trailer you'd have to get the motor really high to hang it up there. Be great if it was hinged somehow so the mounting pad came down to waist heigth.
The thing I have thought about is coming up with a way to put steps on the front upright of the trailer so I could get up onto the bow from here. Seems that I'm always 1) needing the step ladder and 2) going to the aft port or starboard side to board and then walking forward on the boat to get to the pointy end.

Glad you guys enjoyed your boat show, thanks for the pics, especially the pics of open water
The Minneapolis Boat show was a big let down for sailer's

My son and I went Friday night, drove to the show in a snow shower with the temps at about 5.
Lots of pontoons, PWC, fishing and runabouts. Other than the Hobie cat booth the ONLY sailboat to check out was a Catalina 355, very nice boat but at $199,+++ it's out of my price range.
Did talk to a lot of marina's about transient dockage, and find lots of specials to visiting boats, with lots of open slips.
All the more reason to get my railer road ready this year

Hey! What a fun weekend!
First thing Saturday morning there was a faint knocking on my door! As my girls slept, Alan and I headed off! We met Greg, and after a great breakfast headed off to the show! We meandered and looked at all the goodies, boats, and boat candy when another buddy of mine showed up. The four of us continued through the show looking at everything wanting everything and buying nothing! We eventually decided to head to the boats afloat section. There we got to see the really neat stuff! We boarded several nice sailboats, left lots of drool stains, and even managed to look over a nice 60' power boat! We all agreed it was beautiful but really not our style. Afterwards we all headed to my house. Alan had other obligations and headed out but Greg stayed for dinner. The next morning, Greg met me at my house again and we headed out for Destiny! We spent the whole day sailing or . . . drifting . . . . around Possession Sound. The wind would not even hold the jib out. We did get a nice surprise when what looked to be a B-25 bomber and an F14 fighter flew over! NICE! We promptly furled the jib for a better view. We managed a few photos so I'll share those later. Our only excitement was when Greg and I were motoring back Destiny decided to over heat! I promptly shut her down. We'd boild a bit of anti freeze out so I refilled her with some water. After firing her back up, I turned on the heater below which was more than capable of keeping the engine temp down. There was a lot of crap floating in the sound due to unusually high tides and the recents floods. Our assumption is we must have sucked some garbage into our cold water intake. MY wife and daughter were near by so they met us at the dock and assisted in bringing Destiny in! She's a pretty tight fit in her slip! So . . . Looks like I get to replace the impeller next weekend! YEAH!
In short, I had a great time meeting up with Alan again, it was fantastic to meet Greg and get to bend his ear a bit! I bet he thinks twice about spending a day aboard alone with me again! LOL! We generally had a very nice time!!
More photos to follow soon!

More photos!
Here is a shot of the Space Needle from the end of the dock at the boats afloat. Alan and Greg are right next to me taking their own shots!
Here is Greg hanging on for dear life in the incredibly stormy weather we went out in! Check out them waves!!!
Much to our surprise a B25 flew over! We promptly furled the jib for a better view incase he comes back by!!!!
Well, he came by again!! Sweet air show!
Immediately after the B25 an F14 swooped in! It flew by with the wings swept back! It was so fast the only photos I have make it look like a bug on a big screen! It did come back wings out and wheels down and I managed this shot!
Ya missed out Alan!!! LOL!
As already stated it was a GREAT day! Fantastic seeing Alan again and great meeting Greg! Thanks both of you for sharing your time with me!

Oh Wise Guy, yuk, yuk, yuk!
I was thinking more like the Marks Brothers.
Wish I could have made the sailing trip. Clearly you could have used another had in that tempest you were sailing in on Sunday.
I've never seen a B25 in flight in person before so I missed that too. I've seen several B-17's flying in person before but not a B-25. Dang!
Thanks
Alan

A big thank you to Alan and Scott. The boat show time with them was fun, Scott is a good cook, and the time on Destiny a great memory. But best of all was making two new great friends. Thank you Alan and Scott for making me feel welcome, hope to get the chance to return the favor in the future.

Hey right back at you Greg. Hope we get to do things like this again in the future. Maybe a sailing rally with the boats this summer.
Thanks
Alan
