I saw that come up on Town Dock in late March. Won't be back to Oriental till next Thursday. Hope there's still some good stuff left!

LOL. I bought my C22 in 2006. It was on Lewisville (Lake Dallas part) and moved it to Joe Pool.

This weekend's the Oriental Boat Show, so there's a good chance that anything worth snapping up will get snapped by Monday, but you still might luck out.

While third-hand information is often indistinguishable from gossip, when I was in Oriental last fall I was told that a divorce was involved in the shop's demise, although I don't know whether it was causal or incidental.

If that's the case it's really sad. I lost a business that way years ago.

Jeff . . . I loved you videos on YouTube . . . and your boat. Thanks for having them out there!

Just got back from Oriental. I was in tha store on Saturday. Most of the good stuff was picked over except for some hardware and smaller items. I did find two 3" stainless vents for the holes in the transom or cockpit. They were 2.10 each.

There were good deals on some anchors.

Clair, what did they have for anchors? I really don't need more, but I have this ground tackle fetish that's hard to shake. Did you happen upon a Delta 22 or a similarly sized Rocna, Manson or Spade, or maybe a Danforth 12-H (high tensile)?

Jeff
Mostly they just had standard Danforth style . There was a plow achor there but I didn't pay attention to brand.

Stopped at the consignment shop next and met the new owners. They changed the place around a bit. They now have the checkout just as you come in the door. Shortley after they took over, They left 2 small outboards out overnight. They were gone the next morning. I asked what Cindy was doing. They said she was taking it easy and doing some traveling.

Heading back down around the 18th for 5 more days.

Jeff is right about why the store closed and it is a shame becauseis was just walking distants from the free dock and The Bean, We bought a few things for the C-26 before they closed the doors last season it was better then the West Marine there.

Nothing will sink a business or a sailboat quicker than a divorce... so in the sprite of keeping the winds in our sails let us strive (within reason) to keep our first mates happy.
