Monday Question of the Week

J Goose beat me to the punch on this week's question concerning lightning. So I'll lay back this week and encourage you to participate and/or read his discussion.

We've had 5 straight days of monsoonal flow in Denver this week with afternoon thunderstorms and some very heavy rain. I intended to erect my mast for the first time this weekend but somehow putting up a 25' metal tube when lightning is in the area seemed like it could wait.

Have a great week!

Sorry Paul, no intent to highjack. I am in a similar situation. I indeed, put my mast up last week. Our weather has been great, til today. We had one heck of a thunderstorm making me wonder.....

The best part is I have a tall rig, so 28foot and change sittin up there. Luckily I have 35' Black walnut trees around the boat.

The short of it is, the mast needs to come down before the next storm for Jay's sanity.

I guess I was chomping at the bit this week for a good round table discussion.

When on the mooring I have cable with mooring lines to bow chain plate which is at the top of the mast as mine and the Bristol 26 are the highest thing around within 200'. I used a welder plug at the chain plate.
