Name this sail

Post by trev »

I have seen people use a small sail in place of the main while at anchor to help keep the boat from swinging around the anchor. The last few times I've anchored overnight I have been swinging a good 280 degrees so I'm thinking of trying one of these sails. Anyone know the correct name of this sail?

Thanks

I believe it's called an anchor riding sail.

Thanks for the links. I've never seen one like that, the couple I've seen used were attached to the mast and boom like a small main sail. That kit looks like a good project to try out.
